Togetherall offers Huskies assistance during tough times

A new online service provides added support to NIU students facing challenges that often come with being in college.

NIU Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) recently added Togetherall to its suite of services. Togetherall is a peer-to-peer round-the-clock support service that allows students to speak anonymously to other college students, via an online chat, about things with which they are struggling. This could include home sickness, relationship issues, identity issues, roommate or parent conflicts, loss of a loved one and a variety of others.

To support students, the CCS team already provides comprehensive mental health support. This includes a wide range of counseling services, with in-person and one-on-one counseling, small group counseling and telehealth appointments. The CCS staff members are prepared to deal with a wide range of mental health needs, ranging from assisting a student in need of immediate critical care in time of crisis to helping students develop better communication and relationship skills.
