2024-25 Provost Fellows announced

Congratulations to our Provost Fellows for the 2024-25 academic year.

Peter Chomentowski, associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education is the Provost Fellow in Faculty Affairs. Shannon Becker, associate professor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures is the Provost Fellow in Academic Affairs.

This one-year program is designed for faculty members interested in exploring leadership and administrative roles. Provost Fellows will become more familiar with university-level decision-making and campuswide initiatives. The overall goal is to provide Fellows with a more expansive range of leadership experiences and for them to serve as a member of the Office of the Provost.

The Provost Fellow for Academic Affairs assists the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs focusing on undergraduate education such as supporting UNIV 101, curriculum innovation projects and working with the Advising Advisory Committee on professional development and training opportunities for academic advisors.

The Provost Fellow for Faculty Affairs is primarily responsible for managing the Emerging Faculty Leadership Program and Department Leaders Program and will assist the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs with projects such as the Midwest Athletic Conference academic leadership development program.

The appointment is for one year starting July 1, 2024, with the possibility of a one-year extension. Fellows receive one month of salary from July 1, 2024 through August 14, 2024 and a one-course release for each of the fall and spring semesters.
