Professor Geoffrey Smith has been such a gift to have this semester. He was able to foster an environment where exponential growth happened naturally. Through the use of consistent, efficient conversation, I was given the freedom of my own discernment. Professor Smith helped me gain the confidence to create – playfully. With open-ended ideas and loose guidelines, our class moved in ways that were unexpected yet effective. My personal journey during this course went from starving to satiated and ready for dessert.
The challenges I faced were great, in that I had to actually think about every move I made and how it valuably (or non valuably) contributed to my greater purpose as a creator. Overall, I will look back fondly on this time for the rest of my career and will continue to utilize the tools, knowledge, and artist names mentioned to me during this course!
