Earlier this month, the NIU Board of Trustees voted to approve tenure and promotion for more than 40 NIU faculty members.
Achieving a tenured faculty role is an accomplishment that is recognized after a significant amount of evaluation and consideration of a faculty member’s scholarship, teaching and service to NIU, the profession and beyond.
NIU faculty members are leaders in teaching and research. Utilizing innovative and creative teaching while exploring and evaluating new technologies and strategies, faculty members strive to enhance the classroom experience and create an atmosphere of learning and inclusion.
“Our faculty members play a critical role in student success at NIU, along with conducting important and impactful research, scholarship and artistry,” executive vice president and provost Laurie Elish-Piper said. “These individuals receiving tenure and/or promotion have consistently demonstrated a level of dedication and excellence that benefits our students, their colleagues, the university and beyond.”
Facilitating the success and rewarding the accomplishments of faculty members aligns with university goals to encourage transdisciplinary scholarship and curricular innovation as well as to support student success.
Congratulations to each of the following faculty members on their accomplishments!
