Stephanie Baker

I had Dr. Baker for both my Transitions class and my clinical course during the fall 2026 semester, and she truly made a lasting impact on me as a future educator. She is incredibly flexible, understanding, and always there for her students no matter what. You can tell she genuinely cares, not just about us as students, but about improving the field of special education as a whole.

Because of her, I’ve grown so much in my confidence and in my understanding of neurodiversity-affirming and best practices. She pushed me to think deeper and continue improving, while still making me feel supported along the way. She holds high expectations but does it in a way that motivates you instead of overwhelming you.

Dr. Baker also gave me hope for the future of special education. She shows that real change is possible and that there are educators who are committed to doing better for students. Watching the way she teaches and supports future teachers made me want to be better.

She is organized, approachable and passionate, and I truly don’t think I would be the educator I am today without her. I hope to be a fraction of the educator she is someday.
