Forward Focus

Join faculty, staff and administrators on NIU’s campus for a unique opportunity to explore ideas shaping the future of higher education.

Forward Focus is a cross-campus book club designed to spark conversation, foster connection and inspire innovation. Each semester, the group will read a thought-provoking book and come together for flexible online dialogue and an informal, in-person discussion.

Fill out this brief form to join the conversation at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31 in the Staff Lounge at Founders Memorial Library. The group will be discussing “The Great Upheaval: Higher Education’s Past, Present, and Uncertain Future” by Arthur Levine and Scott Van Pelt.

Upcoming dates for future discussions include Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, and Monday, Feb. 23, 2026.

Forward Focus is cohosted by University Libraries and the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.
