Dr. Samonds was my professor for Gross Anatomy, Human Embryology and Human Neurology, but she was also so much more than that. Before I had even finished applying to the HAS program, I had the opportunity to speak with her briefly, and that simple interaction solidified NIU as my top choice. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to pursue my education here.
She consistently encouraged me to take advantage of every opportunity for outreach, teaching experience and professional growth. Having Dr. Samonds not only as an instructor for multiple courses but also as a mentor and supporter of my academic journey and future career as an educator has been an incredibly meaningful experience.
